Web Design

For over five years i have fiddled with web design. I have a personal site that i am constantly modifying and trying new skills on. Assuming clients provide me with photos and text to work with I charge $50 per page plus the cost of hosting and domain registration. Domain registrations cost $10 per year through this company. I use Dreamhost for most site hosting. I encode all email addresses on the site to minimize harvesters collecting the addresses for spam. I can install a script to track visitors for those interested. I have created sites for businesses and non-profits. I have provided updating services for websites requiring continuous updating. I worked with Viking Travel to enable online credit card payments.

to begin discussing your project. I am currently working on a website for a photographer.

Below are a few of the sites I have designed.

Whalesong Cruises

A local charter operator that provides sightseeing, whale watching, glacier viewing, and other marine transportation services here in Petersburg, Alaska, Whalesong Cruises provided me with text and photos and Icreated this site.

Wrangell Sentinel

Having designed the latest version of the Petersburg Pilot website, owner Ron Loesch asked me to create a similar site for the Wrangell Sentinel. I have completed the site work. Watch for the site's official launch soon.

Rainbow Glacier Christian Camp

Presbytery of Alaska approached me about creating a basic page with information for people about their Rainbow Glacier Christian Camp.

Petersburg Pilot

The Petersburg Pilot launched a new design in early March 2004. The redesign features a front page with headlines and news snippets, a photograph, weather, a search feature, and state news headlines. Story pages had links to related stories and websites (when I updated their site for them - now that they are doing it they seem to have stopped). I updated weekly with a selection of photos and stories from the previous week's paper. I created all of the page templates and style sheets and optimized the site structure to be cataloged by the Google news aggregators.

LeConte Outfitters

Dave and Wanda Helmick wanted a site to promote their LeConte Outfitters service providing hunting, fishing, sightseeing, and transportation services. The site was officially launched in October 2004. Using photographs the Helmick's provided, I scanned images and created a fluid feel to their site. All graphic design, page layout and stylesheets were created by me.

Sadly, Dave Helmick passed away in the fall of 2005.

Economic Development Council

The Petersburg Economic Development Council website largely had content ready for publishing. They used photos available for public use from the state and had a logo on their letterhead. I simply connected the pieces and then collected a number of links for businesses to use. This site was launched in the summer of 2004.

Fire Department

As a volunteer in the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department, I took on the creation of a department website to provide information to members and the public. The site features a forum for discussion.

PVFD

With the demise of mitkof.net I decided to register www.mitkof.org to provide Petersburg, Alaska with a constructive resource for community discussion, buying and selling, and providing information to residents and those interested in Petersburg. The site is driven with a database providing the forum, photo album, calendar, and other resources for members.
