Frozen pipes again.

This will be another post about frozen pipes. No. Correction. All you need to know is that I didn’t cuss (too much) or throw anything or break anything. And then my friend Mike sent me this image without having heard of my battle with the plumbing this year. Things could have been worse.

National Toilet Day

Today is National Toilet Day!
“Dirty toilets attract the wrong crowd” the posters below state. (I cropped them significantly. See the originals here.) It also says “Please help keep our public toilets clean. Avoid squatting on the seats. Remember to flush. Clean up before you leave. And please keep the floor dry.”

Spam

I just had this piece of spam make it through the Hotmail filter. I was wondering what would happen to spammers if the only non-encoded email addresses that they found were those of other spammers and the ISPs of those that allow spam. Let the bots crawl.

FROM THE DESK OF
DR EVANS AKUKWESILI
WEMA BANK NIGERIA PLC
LAGOS NIGERIA.
EMAIL:akukwesili@coolgoose.com

DEAR Mcfarland
My name is DR EVANS AKUKWESILI, the Manager, Credit and
Foreign Bills of WEMA BANK NIGERIA PLC.
I am writing in respect of a foreign customer of my
bank with account number 64-255-2004/ASTB/123-99 who
perished in an auto-crash in june 15 2001

Since the demise of this our customer, I personally
has watched with keen interest to see the next of kin
but all has proved abortive as no one has come to
claim his funds of US$13.5m(thirteen Million five hundred thousand
United States
Dollar), which has been with mybranch for a very long
time. On this note, I decided to seek for whom his
name
shall be used as the next of kin as no one has come up
to be the next of kin.

And the banking ethics here does not allow such money
to stay more than four years, because money will be
recalled to the bank treasury as unclaimed after this
period. In view of this, I got your contact through a
trade journal after realizing that your name and
country is similar to the deceased.

Upon the receipt of your response, I will send you by
fax or e-mail the application, bank’s fax number and
the next step to take.

I will not fail to bring to your notice that this
business is hitch free and that you should not
entertain any fear as all modalities for fund transfer
can be finalized within five banking days, after you
apply to the bank as a relation to the deceased.

When you receive this letter, kindly send me an e-mail
signifying your interest including your most
confidential telephone/fax numbers for quick
communication.
Respectfully submitted,

DR. EVANS AKUKWESILI.

Pilot site redesign

A while ago i drafted a revision of the Petersburg Pilot’s website. I made a few more modifications to it and thought some of you might like to see the draft – with old news until I can get a commitment from Ron to go ahead with it.

Seatbelt use

The results of a survey the Fire Department just completed of Petersburg High School Students. A committee from the FD plans to launch a program to try and increase seatbelt use among all drivers and passengers with blatant bribes. Get caught wearing your belt and you’ll get a coupon for ice cream. Redeem that and you are entered to win airline tickets, movie rentals, gym passes, tans… etc.

Today is…

Today is National Pie Day and Measure Your Feet Day!
