Salvation Army
I went to the Salvation Army today. We bought Leverage, some green Converse All Stars from the late 70′s for Amy, and the Scrabble Sentence Cube Game. With our interest in words these 21 wooden dice are sure to be fun.
Plaid and toga
I had written about spirit week and my feelings about it. Well here is evidence that while i may have never gone to a single sporting event in all of high school i was always up to wearing odd clothing to school.
On the left we have me in May of 1992 on “Plaid Day” as declared by the students. I’m wearing a flannel long sleeve shirt and shorts, plaid bowtie and cumberbund, and flannel boxers (not pictured). The weather was sunny and warm that day.
On the right Mike Vanelzakker and i are wearing bedsheets as togas. I recall using a pin featuring a treefrog to secure the outfit. On my feet i was wearing the same sandals as pictured in the image to the left.
1986
Seeing as i’m getting old and i have very few friends (no offense to those few friends i do have) i decided to look up a few people that i have not heard from in a while. Mike VanElzakker and Chara Williams are the only two people that i graduated from high school with that i have seen since or communicated regularly with. Yeah, i was a recluse in school. I was just as goofy as today – i just wasn’t cool. But i still had a few friends. The fact that i can recall all the people in the picture below is evidence of that. 
Carolyn Wong and i were in sixth grade together. Six years later we worked at Kodak for the second half of the school day. I didn’t have my license (didn’t get it until i was 19) and so she gave me a ride there. I slept most of the time though. She’s living near Fairport (where we grew up) and it has been nice to reconnect.
This day in 6th grade… my mom dropped me off at the party. For some reason i had fingernail polish on one of my fingers and i was removing it in the car on the way there. I remember Carolyn’s parents being very nice. There were a bunch of girls at the party too. But honestly i can’t remember all of their names so i won’t post the picture. However, i do remember playing spin the bottle. A lucky spin and Shannon Morris and i were sent to the bathroom to kiss. Some witness came along- but i don’t remember who. I remember someone going outside and trying to look in the window of the bathroom too. I also remember that Shannon and i did not kiss.
The first kiss of my life had to wait another year or so… but that is another story. Thanks for the pictures Carolyn!
Style sheet valid
I tweaked my style sheet for my site and have earned the title as “valid”. Now I only have 156 errors to clean up on my html to earn the valid badge for those requirements. Did you just hear someone shout “geek”?
Old school
You can use this tool to browse the web like they (we) did in the olden days. Internet Explorer 2.0, Netscape Mosaic… it shows me that i have a long way to go to standardize my pages.
The weekend
To celebrate my birthday Jim Edgars, Emilie Sperl, and Amy Winters took me out on a camping trip. We stayed at a private cabin so we only had to bring food, tioletries, clothes and sleeping bags. The weather was pretty rainy the whole time we were there. Shawn Luhr loaned his boat to us so we didn’t have to make the ride in an open skiff. Marley came along and behaved quite well. I decided to start using “As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted…” to start my stories off instead of “There I was, minding my own business…” Some photos. I bet you want to see some photos. I’ll get working on them.

I was checking out my “gold box” deals on Amazon today. The first one wasn’t really much of a deal though. Tell me if you think that seems a little high for seven spatulas.
