Since September I have written 10 blog posts that were paid using PayPerPost or ReviewMe. The ReviewMe posts were from “campaigns” that are open to all members and the PayPerPost entries were ones that this site qualified for, i did, and then were accepted for payment. I do not apply for all posts that i am qualified for on PPP and the very low paying campaigns i ignore. Regardless, the graph below shows that there is a slow downward trend in the amount paid for posts. Even averaging out the purple line shows a slow decrease. I honestly had expected an increase in the amount paid over time as advertisers woke up to the possibilities of generating traffic with blogs.

Perhaps the market is saturating with blogs written specifically to cater to this bit of income.

I’m sure that my time in Vietnam helped boost my website rank while over there - but since Coconut commented we know that the audience is spreading. I was looking at some stats and according to Alexa zieak.com is growing in popularity…

I took a month off of reporting these statistics. I pretty much took a month off of posting also so the site stats should be poorer. A few things shook up the blogging world recently though. Just after i left Google began docking sites that do paid posts. Some sites went from a pagerank of 5 or six to one or even zero. Ouch. I have a few posts scattered through the site that i have been paid for and a few links associated with posts have been sponsored. This has brought in about $250 total. Fortunately the major hit didn’t seem to impact my site. Yet.
Keep in mind that these stats are for the whole month.
- 1403 posts - 19 new
- 2618 comments - 16 new
- Technorati Authority: 89 (down 4) rank: 77,154 (decreased 4,213)
- Google Page Rank: 5
- Alexa: 211,895 (decreased 38,988)
- Page Strength: 4
- Feedburner subscribers: 27 (no change)
- BlogTopSites: 118 (decreased 31)
- Blog Juice: 2.0 (down 0.1)

I have tried to bring some money in using the different paid blogging services. I recently did a little research on the top earners using PayPerPost. I have made $55 from ReviewMe. Just $26 from Sponsored Reviews. Until now none of my posts have been approved by payperpost. Despite them being my favorite and multiple attempts to have material approved it just hasn’t happened. I had a post rejected twice because the posts on either side of it were too short or appeared to be sponsored. (But it wasn’t and when i argued it and they lifted the rejection the offer no longer was available - i deleted the link to the sponsor.) But finally, two of my posts have been approved and tomorrow money should come into my Paypal account. The two posts should pay $65 - quickly overtaking ReviewMe’s spot as the big money earner for my site. I use the Paypal money for a few things but some sits in the account and earns more money. In the last year i have earned $5.88 through Paypal’s dividend program.
Hopefully PayPerPost can keep up the good work. I know that the reason for the rejections has been to weed out the spam blogs but the frustration of having a post approved has nearly caused me to quit submitting to them. These payments are really encouraging.
