Camel Festival in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Normally you have to travel a bit to see a good camel festival, even from Ulaanbaatar.  But last year the camel festival came to just an hour outside of Ulaanbaatar at the foot of the giant stainless steel statue of Chinggis (Genghis) Khaan.  We watched a few camel polo bouts, saw a camel beauty contest, tasted fermented camel milk and saw the finish of a camel race.  We were hoping to see things made of camel wool but the day was not at all a let down.  I finally took time to crop and white-balance my photos…
