Snoopy garbage can

This once cylindrical garbage can was salvaged from the dump a few weeks ago. Inspired by people that work with metal i thought i could use it to laminate a piece of wood for a table top.

I got to document some of the Mayfest sights this year – first hand experience. Angela got a Coast Guard name tag made with her Valkyrie name on it.

Mother’s Day fireworks!

Mother’s Day fireworks! Originally uploaded by zieak Saturday night (ok, it wasn’t Mother’s Day) Seth had a little bonfire and Levy brought some fireworks because he’s never in Petersburg for the 4th of July. Why he cares about that is still a mystery. He’s Canadian. Anyway – they shot off some bottle rockets.

Window trim on front of the house

On Sunday i also finished putting trim around the windows in the front of the house. Azek trim with galvanized nails and a caulk sealant to keep water from getting behind the trim and working into the house. I had the center window already trimmed. I’m glad to have that job done!

Stand legs replaced

I used sheet metal screws and aluminum angle metal to replace the legs. i had planned on also attaching bracing between the legs but the stand seems to be strong enough without them. I should get another 5 years out of the stand now!

Dilapidated adjustable stand

This is a nice stand to use when i am cutting long pieces on my chop saw. The top rollers move fairly easily. The height is adjustable. But the tripod base is kind of – well, unreliable. I have to balance the thing on that wedge of wood to get it to stand up and …
