China: Longmen Grottoes cliff side paths
As a parks and recreation guy i have a fascination with some of the mundane things about a place like this… the garbage cans, benches and pathways are all of interest to me.

On a smaller, less dense scale, California has the same appeal to me. Whenever I’m there and attending a public event, I’m awed by the logistics of providing entertainment/restrooms/parking/etc for such massive crowds of people. And they’re pretty efficient on the street level, I’ve been impressed.
Although, a few weeks ago we had a dinner party scheduled, and earlier in the day I got bored and sold the dining table and chairs on craigslist. (My point being that I may have a low threshold for being impressed when it comes to accommodating crowds.)
I can’t help but love logistics. I am fascinated by the intricacies of loading vehicles on the ferry, proving services for a crowd of disaster victims, and those kinds of things. I suspect it has something to do with my thirst for knowledge. If i was a zombie i would be saying “mmm knowledge” when i ate brains.
