Portable digital storage

I got really lucky when i was on my trip to South America. I had some spare time in an airport and backed up all of my photos to my netbook and to usb thumb drives. Within 24 hours my netbook was stolen. So i strongly believe in the use of thumb drives to keep files and backup images when traveling.

I had two large capacity thumb drives that i bought when i had my layover in Los Angeles with Kevin. I accidentally left one of them in LA. (Do you still have that one?)

Here’s a collection of usb drives that you can make yourself or consider a Personalized usb drive. Check out the unique ideas!

A usb thumb drive
A zippo drive
Hotwheels car flash drive
Lego USB drive

I have a Swiss Army knife (called the “Swissbit”) with a USB drive. I like this tutorial on how to upgrade the memory to a larger capacity one.

I use a thumb drive to transport files to and from work on occasion. I use my personal digital camera to take pictures of work projects. Sometimes i don’t get them synced to both computers. I find it easier to clear the old images from the camera memory card and then just moving the files that don’t really belong either at work or at home with the thumb drive.

Like buckets and extension cords, i don’t think you can have enough USB thumb drives.
