Last Thursday, Jason Avery and I spent the day on Capitol Hill meeting with Alaska’s congressional representatives and advocating for federal programs. We were not looking for pork barrel funding – just continued funding for competitive programs that fund facilities and activities. We met with Senator Begich, one of Senator Murkowski’s aides and finally with Congressman Young.

Here’s a photo from a meeting i had with him a previous year…

Within a few hours of getting a tweet (a text message that Isubscribe to) urging participation in www.dontsnortit.com I saw this sticker on a lightpole outside of a Seattle restaurant. They are referring to snorting bacon salt.
And the restaurant happens to serve a drink that uses bacon salt.
Thank God for room service – other people’s room service being left in the hall!
Ready to rock.
This isn’t a double exposure – just my reflection in the window of an elevator at the SeaTac Doubletree.
Just across from the Doubletree at SeaTac is Sharps Roaster and Alehouse. Dinner and a drink.
Find the human skeleton, moose head, 7.6% ale, and the glass of water.
It pretty much takes 2 days to get to the east coast from Petersburg – at least on Alaska Airlines. Fortunately I was able to squeeze in a glass of wine vefore landing. I also was able to take quite a few notes for an idea I have for a trilogy of novels. I nevr have jad the inspiration to write before.

Part of the roof of the business across the street from my house collapsed from heavy snow.
I took this photo from the second floor of my house. The windows are high. See the top of someone’s head just left of the center of the photo and above the snowbank at the bottom? Yeah – that’s an adult standing up.
Last year and the year before we set snowfall records. I really need to invest in a snowblower.
On Saturday evening i had Mitch, Earl, and another friend over and they went head-to-head determining who was the best guitarist. Earl won. My voice lost.
We watched Death Race and the Role Models. I have a feeling i’m going to have to replace the bulb a lot sooner this time around. But then again – i saw Costco having a sale on a projector for under $500… maybe by the time i’m replacing the bulb prices will be low enough to just replace the projector. It has been buggy on startup.

I just couldn’t pass up this book from the Salvation Army. I’ve started reading it too so prepare to be influenced!

At least one of these will become a belt. What a pleasant reminder to eat less. Picked them up for 50 cents at a rummage sale.

This was $5 at the Salvation Army but i just couldn’t pass it up. Nice analog gauges to display the wind direction and velocity.
