I guess I tried to make an online payment for a credit card and accidentally addded one too many zeroes. Instead of paying $1,000 it was $10,000. I, of course, don’t have that kind of money in my checking account. So my bank charged me $20 overdraft. And then I didn’t put enough money in so the payment bounced and the credit card computers were kind enough to try again. Another $20 overdraft. And then the credit card company zinged me with a $39 insufficient funds charge. One lousy zero cost me $79. I guess i was lucky it didn’t make my payment late.
I guess I’ll be double checking those confirmation screens from now on.
