On Sunday we had planned to hike Petersburg Mountain. Lack of a boat across the Wrangell Narrows and clouds covering the summit helped change our plans though. At about 11 Rachel, Shane, Karna and Daniel gathered at our house and we drove to the hatchery at Blind Slough.
We started up the trail and Karna said she thought the trail led off to the side of the pipeline. We did a little bushwacking until we reconnected with the trail. Cena was miserable and i sweat 10 pounds but after an hour and a half we reconnected with the pipeline. We all walked on top of it to the dam where we snacked and made a small fire.
We decided to take a totally different route down. We followed the trail that is above the pipeline’s upper portion and then followed alongside the pipeline down the mountain. It took about an hour and a half for us to descend and we spent about an hour at the lake.
