Long vacation? Suspend your cell phone.

A few days before leaving for our month-long trip i called my cellular provider - GCI - to see if i could cancel my account for the month (i am not on a contract) and then renew it 30 days later.  To my amazement the service agent told me that they could suspend my account for up to 30 days and it wouldn’t incur any fees.  I set it up and then passed the phone to Cena to do the same for her cell account.  The month goes by, our phones worked when we arrived back in the US and everything seemed fine.  Until Cena checked her account online.  The full $130 that we pay monthly was on the bill (450 minutes, unlimited data and unlimited text) for the time that we were gone.  Cena called and had to escalate her case to a supervisor because they pulled the whole “i don’t know why someone told you that” trick.  I opted to wait and see what happened to my account and sure enough - i was billed for $132.39.  I called and explained the situation.  They asked for Cena’s number to look at what they did on her account, sighed a few times and then put me on hold.  She came back and said she “just talked to my lead” and that she would “credit back that month.”  Naturally, i thanked her - and asked to make certain that they credit back the sales tax too.  On Cena’s they didn’t refund the sales tax portion of her bill.  The agent said on the phone that they would credit $132.39.  Hopefully a success.  Now to scrutinize my bill and see if i can reduce any of my services.
