Once upon a time my sister was so organized for mom and dad’s anniversary that she ordered flowers for them. Kevin and i contributed - well, i just contributed - also. Seems like she asked me about pitching in and i agreed before their anniversary rolled around but then i forgot and then she remembered while i was in Vietnam. I did my best to not log into financial sites while overseas because i was too concerned about giving someone my user names and passwords through an unsecured connection or questionable computer.
When i need to give flowers locally it is nice to just be able to pop by or call Rachel at the flower shop. (It’s funny that people call businesses by their generic names like Forget-Me-Not Floral is “The Flower Shop” and Zoom Bikes is “The Bike Shop.”) I prefer to give a potted plant but every now and then cut flowers are the right gift for the occasion.
We hope to get more plants growing in the yard this year. Cena scored some mixed flower seeds at the basket sale this fall so maybe this spring we’ll get a few flower beds made. It would be nice to put some fresh flowers in the house every now and then from the yard. We have plenty of Columbine that grow on the property which attract hummingbirds. We should really shy away from the flowers that attract birds because of our cats though.
