Buy text links on a PR5 page

I have dabbled in a few of the paid blogging services like ReviewMe, PayPerPost and SponsoredReviews.  I wrote about my initial impressions of those three paid blogging services. With Google zinging blogs that have sold text links without the “nofollow” attribute there will be more offers for text links made.  My last one was for two links on a certain post for one year for $75.  That kind of direct marketing and link building is more valuable than some of these other services…

ReviewMe sucks because 1 - You can not have your browser save your username and password.  2 - A low ranking site (they use Technorati, Alexa, and estimated RSS subscribers) will not get many (if any) requests for reviews.  3 - “Campaigns” which are open to all blogs that meet their criteria are few and far between.  The best thing about ReviewMe is that you can set your own price for a review.

PayPerPost stinks because 1 - They have horribly restrictive measures in place to prevent spam blogs from taking over.   My latest rejection was because the post before a paid post was a collection of photos and didn’t have much text.  The rejection before that they mistook one of my posts as a sponsored ad - it was about a site that had featured one of my projects.  2 - Their payouts tend to be fairly small.  On the other hand, they do have quite a few opportunities available.

SponsoredReviews is awful because 1 - Many of your bids are rejected and even more never get a response from the advertiser.  2 -Their payouts are lower than PayPerPost.  3 - Writing for almost any of their advertisers is bound to look like a cheesy ad supported post - they seem to cater to personal loans, ink cartridges, and other spammy stuff.  But to their credit the do seem to be adding advertisers regularly.

I need to figure out how to have subtle occasional revenue come in to help me defray the cost of the hosting package for this site and the other projects i’m supporting or will be venturing into.  If you want to run a text ad send me an email at yahoo.com.  Use the part between www and com in this domain for the email user name.
