I have made a few projects that have become incredibly popular on the web. The latest is my shopping cart and bike combo. Before that the geek wallet and the Nintendo optical mouse. Every now and then i get a link that comes in and they have credited a source that didn’t credit me. So i go around and try to get the posts that use my content (photo, text, idea, or whatever) to give me some proper link credit.
A link came in today from Trend Squad who credited Eco Geek with the inspiration for their link. Eco Geek didn’t link to my original post or credit me with the photo but did acknowledge Reuben Miller. In Reuben Miller’s trackbacks was a link to Green Options both of those sites credited the image as being from Idea List. They pointed credit at my main URL and not the specific post - which really is fine with me as long as i get some link love. The other sites sure better send me some now because i just gave them links! Out of these five only two gave me links. If that was the case with all of my content - only getting a link back from 40% of those that use my content in some way - then perhaps i should be fighting for my intellectual rights a little more.

Thanks for the advise, link updated.
We are sorry if someone linked to us instead of you ;(
We take this issue seriously because we want to make sure that the credit goes to whom deserves it.
BTW, Congratulations for the concept, it’s great!
