My recent fascination with parkour led to Cena putting the movie District B13 on her Netflix cue. It is a French film produced by Luc Besson - the director of The 5th Element. I was not expecting the movie to actually be very good and was just hoping to see some great stunt work. We were pleasantly surprised. It is a violent movie but the cinematography is crisp and the action spectacular.

Luc Besson is probably my favorite film director. He also directed The Big Blue (an artsy movie about deep sea diving with no equipment), The Messenger (Joan of Arc), The Professional (assassin who reluctantly teaches a young Natalie Portman the tricks of his trade, and La Femme Nikita (criminal turned reluctant assassin). Except for The Big Blue they’re all pretty violent. He’s been doing more producing and writing these days…he was also a writer for District B13.
