I have been salvaging some of the wood that i removed from our railings on the deck. It turns out that the 2×2 pieces are red cedar but they have been painted red and show some weathering. I have been removing the screws and then using my hand power planer to give them new life…
I plan on using the pieces to make the benches in the sauna (that i plan on making some day). I also think they would be great for making deck furniture out of.

I’ve never seen a power hand plane in use, but that result is sweet. Now I know what to ask for at Christmastime.
