Yesterday i received my invitation to try Sitescore 2. Without any tweaking my site managed an 8.5 out of 10 right away. I made a few adjustments to the style sheet and my header meta information and today ran the check again and scored an 8.9. That earned me a place on the top 10 list. I won’t have that spot for very long. They have some good recommendations for website improvements. The key points that they suggest i work on include
- Define dimensions for images.
- Urls are “dirty” because of my traffic counting script. They don’t like seeing “?” in a url.
- Improve my Alexa rank.
- Better keyword optimization.
- Some more CSS font characteristic tweaking.

ARGH!! I’m still waiting on a damn site key… even tho I HAD an account with them like forever and day a ago.
Sigh.
Got a decent alternatives? They did a good job of not getting too technical with the recommendations.

I have not found any similar services that provide suggestions. There are a few other metrics sites that score your pages but nothing as good as sitescore for comprehensiveness.

It’s back down again. Sigh. Seems like they’re having trouble keeping this service up.
I emailed them about the commercial version, but no response. Sigh.
