It’s a mystery
One of the glass shower doors shattered this morning. I had showered and was outside starting my car up to defrost it. When I came in Cena was calling me upstairs. On my way up, Ash, one of our kittens, went running by. He loves to sit in the shower after it has been used and watch the water droplets run down the glass. He either somehow caused the glass to break or was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Good timing for the thing to break though. We’re about to place an order with Lowe’s.

Wow, pretty crazy. We had our glass sliding patio door shatter several years back. It was really cold one morning when I was getting ready for school. I kept hearing a strange crackling noise in the living room but couldn’t figure out what it was. Right before the bus arrived, I just happened to pull back the blinds and noticed the glass pane had several thousand tiny fractures. The noise I was hearing was the glass splitting! Very cool but it eventually shattered into a boatload of pieces lol
The same thing just happened to our shower door tonight. Amazing… seems like it happened for no reason at all. Woah. Dude.
Weird! Exactly a year and a day after your shower door shattered, mine did the same thing. We have no cats. I was in the bathroom but not in the shower. I heard a pop followed by what sounded like a light rain shower. The glass had thousands of cracks and eventually shattered.
My glass shower door shattered while I was in the shower. Got 15 stitches.
It was probably tempered glass and was installed incorrectly with a pressure point somewhere on the glass. It has happened to our showers before. http://www.alumaxbath.com/tech/tgb.htm <- here is a few explanations why this could have happened.
Very freaky. I awoke at 4:30 am this morning after hearing something break. I thought perhaps a potted plant near my bathtub had falled into the tub. I turned on the bathroom light to find that one of my two sliding shower doors had exploded and shattered all over the floor. No animals around, not excessively hot/cold – just whammo! The larger pieces that had already falled on the floor and in the shower were continuing to pop and break into smaller pieces. I’ve never heard of this before. Thank goodness no one was in the shower or my pets around.
