The hardest thing for me on most projects is finishing them. I’m no finish carpenter and i seem to not be a finish projecter either. But today i moved one small step closer to being done with the French doors that i installed at the end of January. I completed the trim on the outside so the view from the hot tub isn’t quite so - uh - unfinished.

I used Azek trimboards made out of PVC. They have a fake woodgrain and can be painted but we’ll keep them white. Since they are plastic they will resist the moisture of our temperate rainforest and the additional moisture of the hot tub. I need to caulk the trim, add some wood putty around the patched T111, paint and finish the exterior trim still.

On the top photo look on the far right in the middle of the frame. That’s the height of the snow behind the house. Just above the snow line you see a gray line - that’s the top of the walls for the shed that i started. The roof dumps all the snow back there so it is well over six feet deep. We even got snow yesterday. I bet the snow behind the house won’t be gone until May.
