Researching my post about online advertisers lead me to Agloco. They are essentially building a pyramid scheme that plans on securing some of the advertising revenue available online. Compare YouTube which Google bought for over a billion dollars to Metacafe. YouTube does not pay the people that upload content to their site. Metacafe has a program that pays $5 for every 1,000 views (starting after you hit 20,000 views). Back to Agloco… if you join the program and install and use the “Viewbar” once it is available (later this month) you will become eligible for a share of profits. There will be small ads on the bar and a search feature. You also get a portion of the revenue from referrals and the maximum amount of time that the Viewbar needs to run is 5 hours per month. Since i don’t like to see most ads while online (or on tv or reading magazines or newspapers for that matter) i’m not sure if i’ll even download the thing. It might be worth trying to see just how much money can be redirected to the public from the advertisers. It seems like i’ll do just about anything for $3 right now.
