I wrote about a fix for the pixelation in Internet Explorer on my Dell Inspiron 9400. And in looking for an answer for a commenter’s question i discovered the solution to the only other gripe i have been having with this laptop. In some of the programs some of the menu text is pixelated. Here’s a screencap from Macromedia Fireworks.

Well this Microsoft article explains that because of the high resolution on some computers that an enlarged text scaling is activated to make text appear larger. Their solution is simple.
1. Right-click on the desktop.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the Settings tab.
4. Click the Advanced button.
5. Select normal size from the drop down menu.
6. Restart your computer.
Now that same menu in Fireworks is actually legible!
