Now that our cold snap has passed i took the time to change two of the windows in the house. One of them was single pane and you could see daylight from around the frame (as long as you were looking before 3:30 which is about when we lose our daylight right now). The windows were in the boiler room which never required any heat since the system made the room intolerably hot anyway. This way the boiler will be radiating into the rest of the house and hopefully lowering our heating costs. I was surprised at how inexpensive windows were. I still need to insulate around the window frame and the wall and building the window sills and trim needs to be done also but otherwise i have two out of three windows in.
