I guess i’m going to be ditching Haloscan for my site comments. The steps i laid out below got me all set to change my comments over but i can’t get a reply from the operator of Haloscan so I’ll just use the system built into Wordpress. I also installed a plug-in that allows assigning avatars to commenters.
For once, big brother has to be watching over his shoulder. On a routine checking of my AXS logs which i have configured to also track hits to my myspace profile, i noticed this hit…
Someone from the State Department visiting my myspace page? It looks like anyone from the State Department that accesses the internet gets that IP address. That address led me to their Wikipedia history which includes edits to the State Department page.
Cena gave me an early Christmas present today – six boxes of Frankenberry cereal. A few months ago she surprised me with Booberry cereal too. Both of these monstrous fruity sugar cereals are nearly impossible to find in retail stores. But she was able to find them in an online store – Amazon! As of today i have only one box of the Booberry left so the six new boxes of strawberry flavored Frankenberry are going to be very welcome. Mmmm!
Now that our cold snap has passed i took the time to change two of the windows in the house. One of them was single pane and you could see daylight from around the frame (as long as you were looking before 3:30 which is about when we lose our daylight right now). The windows were in the boiler room which never required any heat since the system made the room intolerably hot anyway. This way the boiler will be radiating into the rest of the house and hopefully lowering our heating costs. I was surprised at how inexpensive windows were. I still need to insulate around the window frame and the wall and building the window sills and trim needs to be done also but otherwise i have two out of three windows in.

I really have enjoyed buying glasses at Lenscrafters for the last – oh – fifteen years or so. But i think my next pair will be either from Urban Spectacles and made of wood or an old record or from a discount online service like this one. At that price i can buy ten pairs for what my current glasses cost me. It would be nice to be able to coordinate my glasses with my shoes or belt.
