There is construction on the highway between the house and town. This morning i just missed a group of cars let by the flagger for a stretch of the road that is one lane. I sat there for a while. The group of cars from the other direction passed. Cars piled up. The flagger turned around, i put my foot on the gas and waved to the flagger. She redirected her eyes and didn’t acknowledge me. Half way down the one lane stretch I noticed that none of the other cars had followed - she turned but i guess had not turned the sign. I pulled onto the shoulder of the road. A contractor truck went by. I watched my mirror until she turned the sign. A worker on the site asked “Did you run it?” I didn’t think i did - but i must have. I hate my routines being disrupted.
