On Sunday Yeti got his claws on a varied thrush. I chased after him and he let it go but the bird had a hard time flying. A few hours later Yeti got in a scuffle with another cat (i presume) and when i let him in he was limping a bit. By Monday morning he wouldn’t use his front left paw much at all. I was able to find a wound Monday evening and by Tuesday i had shaved the area around it with clippers and applied hydrogen peroxide to halt the infection he was beginning to get. Why didn’t i just take him to the vet? Because they are “closed until further notice” according to their answering machine. I know she has her own needs to meet right now. Thursday i put Yeti in a kennel and flew him up to Juneau to be attended to by the animal hospital there. $92.97 one way. I don’t know what his care bill will be. I have a little bit of a head cold but it is hard to notice with me worrying about the little guy so much. Here’s a picture i took of him Wednesday night.

Ollie’s LOVIN free roam of the house now. He’s also interested in petting and snuggling a whole lot more.

He has an “inflamed bite wound” and should be on the jet back here tomorrow. He gets to take some medicine. Nothing broken, torn, ripped or even needing stitches. *phew*

I bet he kicked that other cat’s ass though.

More than $500 total for this little catfight. I might have to invest in a bb gun. I can’t afford to send my cats to Juneau every time they try and defend the front porch from the neighbor’s cats.

a squirt gun or hose works, too … (especially if you put white vinegar in the squirt gun)
