Obviously a few days a go i redesigned the main entry to my site. One of the things i did was try and make it load fast. Really fast. I used this tool to check the site loading time and look where i landed after a bit of tweaking… Just as fast as Google. This speed checker is a little better in my opinion. It actually spells out how long the page should load at different connection speeds. Mine is pretty fast.
I know that the members section takes quite a bit longer to load. The commenting service, plenty of images, the script checking to see if i’m online with Trillian… but i will just have to assume that you all have a high speed connection. I do chuckle when i hear the sound of a modem nowadays.

I kind of miss that old sound of the modem. Every time I heard it I would just giggle a little. It was the sound of money to me.

1.7 seconds… but it takes a lot longer to download the content [over 2 meg]
