I locked myself out of my car this morning. Amy had given me back my spare key some time ago and i have kept it in the car for the occasional fire call response. (I leave my car unlocked at home but lock it while at work.) Using two plastic wedges designed for tree falling and a one inch wide, four foot long, flat piece of metal i was able to unlock my car in about 23 seconds.

Your anecdotes are always fun to read- interesting and entertaining. I like the record of time taken to complete the task in this entry– 23 seconds… not 25 or a 1/2 min…. kind of like airline time. “uh, yes, that flight will be arriving at 0423″.

I asked quite nicely if you could time me while i broke into my car. Thank you for being kind enough to spare 23 seconds. I am sorry to have made you that much later for work.

one time i gave a crack head 50 cents to squeeze his skinny arm through the little gap as i pulled the window out… to boot it was in front of a police station and not one cop asked what we were doing.

I’m not about to encourage a habit like Kevin did. Amy will have to find someone else to get money from for her crack habit.

I love the image of the crack head with his arm stuck in your window! That would have been the perfect time for a cop to ask what was going on. But with your luck, you’d get a ticket (or arrested) for breaking into your own truck.
