With some assistance from the creator of Haloscan comments (the tool i use to allow comments on my posts) i was able to get the main page of my site to validate. It has been quite a while since i had solved the problems i was having with white space and people not seeing what i was trying to show. It all originated years ago when i visited Mike VanElzakker in Boulder and tried to show him my site. I used Flash to create it and he couldn’t even read the text i had used. The colors were all off… In short, i realized that i wasn’t creating a site that others could see the way i wanted it presented. I have had problems with Mac user’s ability to view portions of my pages in the past year. I figure if i want to convince people to pay me some money to design their sites that i should be able to figure out how to present material accessible to the masses.
My brother suggested compressing images and i finally made my header images 80% and load time improved by 5x. Now my only quirks are in my block of images that i have at the bottom left. I don’t want the underlines that i have going on with my text links. I have an idea that should eliminate it…
