eBay is so cool. I bid on a few Atari 2600 sets a few weeks back and won one along with 15 games and a matching fake wood grain storage container. It arrived today. Sadly it only came with one joystick and one of the paddle controllers. Head to head games are pretty tough. I originally wanted the Atari so I could take it apart and put a computer inside… like this. Now that I have it I don’t think I’ll be hacking it up though. I’ll need more. More! I did pick up two firetrucks and a furby at the Salvation Army last week. The firetrucks have already been disassembled and will be attached to a hardhat. There will be buttons to push on the side of the hardhat and then lights and sirens will go off. I may even make it so that a monitor (the big water cannon on top of a firetruck) spins around on the top of the helmet. I guess ideally this would all be attached to a firefighter’s helmet. But this is the prototype. Why did I buy the Furby? To open it up and start playing with it of course! Who knows what madness it will become part of. I have built a windchime from spoons found on the beach, a coffee table from a carroms board, Amy created a wreath made of action figures, my Christmas tree from baling wire… I’m crafty.
